She published four novels during her lifetime: Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814), and Emma (1815). In these and in Persuasion and Northanger Abbey (published together posthumously, 1817), she vividly depicted English middle-class life during the early 19th century. Her novels defined the era’s novel of manners, but they also became timeless classics that remained critical and popular successes for over two centuries after her death. These works reflect her enduring legacy. 

The book: This book narrates the adventures and misadventures of the Bennet sisters, focusing on the character of Elizabeth, through which the author introduces us to the society of her time and places women in a more notorious place than the one that corresponded to them at the time.Her mother, observing her daughter's opinions and attitudes, considers her to be a hopeless case with regard to her chances of getting a husband. The plot of the novel begins with the arrival of two lucky young bachelors in the region, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy. The girls' mother sees in this arrival an opportunity to solve the family's problems. Mr. Bingley, a distinguished man, falls in love with Jane Bennet, the eldest daughter. Caroline Bingley, the boy's sister, is against the relationship because of the girl's social class. Mr. Bingley approaches Jane against his sister's opinion. However, the young man suddenly disappears from town, leaving Jane without any explanation. Her friend, Mr. Darcy, in turn, falls prey to the charms of Jane's sister Elizabeth, but at first refuses to accept her feelings since the young woman is of humble origins. Elizabeth, for her part, considers Mr. Darcy an arrogant man and disowns him. The relationship is therefore dominated by prejudice, attraction, passion and anger. A mixture of feelings that are completely at odds with each other. Mr. Darcy, however, finally gains courage and asks for her hand. But Elizabeth remains firm in her ideals and rejects the proposal, since she considers him to be an overbearing and unscrupulous man. But things change after she receives a letter in which Mr. Darcy explains his attitudes. After reading it, Elizabeth.
